Overview

Enjoy Aswan 4-Day Tour of the City's Top Attractions and visit Elephantine Island which is the largest of the Aswan area's islands and one of Egypt's most ancient sites, containing relics reaching back to the predynastic era. This is most likely owing to its location at the Nile's first cataract, which served as a natural barrier between Egypt and Nubia. It was also readily defendable as an island.

Indeed, the historic town on the southern half of the island was a fortress throughout most of its history. There was formerly a bridge connecting the mainland to the island. Elephantine is the Greek word for elephant. In ancient times, the island and the southern city were known as Abu or Yabu, which also meant elephant.

Kom is another name for the town. after it's god of the island, Khnum (Khnemu). You'll visit the Botanical Gardens, which is rich of its plants that were imported from all over the world In the year of 1899 Lord Kitchener used this Island to be a place where his campaign can rest, and call it the Lord's house. After his death, this Island belonged to the ministry of agriculture.

In addition to the Aswan Museum and an ancient Nilometer in the form of ancient stairs leading into the water cut into the rock, there are numerous outstanding rock tombs and shrines of the Old and Middle Kingdom nobles of the city. In the middle of the island, palm groves hide two Nubian villages that frequently welcome tourists and there are many beautiful sceneries along the river.

You’ll visit the high dam, then the goddess Isis’ worship place, “Philae temple,” to learn more about Osiris and how he was murdered by Seth, his brother, and how Isis was able to find her dead husband.

Finally, we'll visit the awe-inspiring Abu Simbel Temples, located a short distance from Aswan, adding another layer of ancient splendor to your journey through Egypt.

The tour includes Accommodation in the Nubian Hotel for  3 nights .
